Barcelona Legends vs Real Madrid Legends: Morientes, Barral Strike as Los Blancos Outclass Barca in Mumbai El Clasico

Barcelona Legends vs Real Madrid Legends: Real Madrid Legends got the better of their Barcelona counterparts with a 2-0 win in a memorable exhibition clash at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, April 6.

It was a landmark moment for Indian football fans, as the iconic El Clasico was played on Indian soil for the very first time, drawing in a passionate crowd and some of the game's most revered names.

Barcelona Legends vs Real Madrid Legends

The match kicked off with Barcelona taking early control of the ball, with midfield maestros Xavi and Rivaldo dictating the tempo. Despite their possession dominance, it was Real Madrid who struck first. Fernando Morientes opened the scoring in the 14th minute, finishing off a move that featured intricate play from Luis Figo and Michael Owen.

Barcelona began to mount pressure following the goal. Rivaldo unleashed a fierce long-range strike that was comfortably saved, and Mendieta's clever through ball nearly found Xavi in a promising position. Morientes almost bagged his second of the night in the 32nd minute, his effort narrowly missing the target.

As the first half drew to a close, Barcelona continued to enjoy more of the ball, but their attempts lacked precision, flying off target. Real Madrid came out strong after the break, with Morientes once again testing the defense and Owen firing just over the bar.

Barcelona pushed hard for an equaliser, but Madrid's defense, led by Pepe, stayed compact and resilient. The Catalans kept probing, with Javier Saviola forcing a deflected effort that led to a corner in the 60th minute. Just when it looked like an equaliser might be coming, a hydration break shifted the momentum.

Shortly after play resumed, Real Madrid doubled their lead. A rare lapse from Carles Puyol allowed David Barral to slip past him and calmly slot the ball into the net in the 69th minute.

Despite their efforts in the final moments, Barcelona couldn't find a breakthrough. Real Madrid's Legends walked away with a 2-0 victory, giving Indian fans a night to remember with a taste of the legendary El Clasico rivalry.
