Bengaluru, August 24: La Liga giants Barcelona are currently in dire need for new signings following their transfer of Neymar who joined Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the transfer window for a whopping £198million.
While, Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool) and Ousmane Dembélé (Dortmund) remain their top attacking targets for a while now, Barcelona are also monitoring the situation of another attacker, Chelsea's Willian, who saw his playing time last season under Conte very limited.
According to reports, Barcelona have already contacted the Chelsea star's agents and are reportedly preparing themselves to make a move for the Brazilian.
Coutinho and Dembele were Barca's first choice targets since the last month, however, any deals to secure the two players has dealt a blow as both the clubs refused to sell their prized assets at any cost.
This has allegedly prompted Barcelona to look elsewhere, and according to reports, they assume Willian could be a practical and top-level alternative as he is not in the first team plans of Chelsea manager Antonio Conte's system.
The attacking playmaker just started 15 times in the Premier League last season as Conte preferred his team mate Hazard and Pedro over him and some recent reports have proposed that the 29-year-old is upset with the lack of game time.
Earlier in the season, Willian was linked with Manchester United but that move never happened. Willian later confirmed the news adding Chelsea rejected the proposal of him leaving the club this season.
Willian was signed by Mourinho in 2013 from Shakhtar Donetsk and has a contract until 2020 with the Premier League champs Chelsea.
