In the last season, Barcelona finished second behind their arch-rival Real Madrid. This season, with former Bayern Munich and Germany manager Hansi Flick at the helm, the Blaugrana are hoping for a new era to come.
On 10th July, Flick's managerial career at Barcelona started officially and on the same day, the club started the medical examinations of the players. Reportedly, Ronald Arajuo, Gavi, Pedri, and Frenkie de Jong could miss the pre-season tour as they are still recovering from their past injuries.

On 19th March 2024, Barcelona announced that the United States will be their destination for the pre-season matches of the upcoming season and they will participate in the Soccer Championship Tour 2024 in the United States. Last season they also made a trip to the US for the pre-season.
The Catalonia will play three friendly matches in this trip before returning to their home where they will play the Joan Gamper Trophy. Barcelona will start their pre-season journey against the four consecutive EPL winners Manchester City on July 30. The next fixture will be a pre-season El Clasico, against the defending UCL and La Liga champion Real Madrid. The last match of the Blaugrana will be against the runners-up of Serie A, AC Milan. Then back in Spain, they will face the French club Monaco in the Joan Gamper Trophy.
For the pre-season of Barcelona, the official broadcasters are yet to be confirmed.
The match against Man City will be shown live on Premier Sports in the UK and the highlights of all the club-friendlies will be available to watch on Barcelona One, the official streaming platform of the Spanish giant.
Under the new manager Hansi Flick, Barcelona will kick off their upcoming 2024-25 season against Valencia in their first match of the La Liga at Mestalla Stadium in Valencia, Spain.
