Barcelona Star Close to Joining Champions League 100 Goals Club Alongside Lionel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo

Barcelona's star striker Robert Lewandowski is on the brink of making UEFA Champions League history, potentially joining an elite club of goalscoring legends, currently occupied only by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

On Wednesday (November 6) night, Lewandowski could reach this milestone against Crvena Zvezda, marking another significant chapter in his storied career. Since he arrived at Barcelona from Bayern Munich in 2022, Lewandowski has made an immediate impact.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo UCL 100 goals club

Last season, he led the Catalan side to a La Liga title, scoring an impressive 33 goals in his debut campaign. Despite some struggles, his remarkable form this season under manager Hansi Flick has rejuvenated the 36-year-old, who has already netted 17 goals in 15 appearances, including 14 in La Liga and three in the Champions League.

Currently sitting at 97 goals in the UEFA Champions League, Lewandowski is just three strikes away from joining Messi and Ronaldo in the exclusive "100 Club."

Only Messi, with 129 goals, and Ronaldo, with an all-time record of 140 goals, have achieved this feat in Champions League history. With neither of them playing in Europe now, Lewandowski stands poised to etch his name alongside theirs.

Lewandowski's Champions League journey has spanned three clubs: he scored 17 goals in 28 games with Borussia Dortmund, reached an astounding 69 goals in 78 matches at Bayern Munich where he also lifted the trophy, and has added 11 more in 17 appearances for Barcelona.

His next milestone goal may come at a favorable time as Barcelona approaches Wednesday's fixture fresh from a 4-1 victory over Bayern Munich, in which Lewandowski found the net.

Should he achieve this remarkable century mark, Lewandowski would further cement his legacy among the Champions League's greatest scorers, and with his form showing no signs of slowing, he could extend the tally further to match them.
