Barcelona Women Qualify For Champions League Final As Putellas Stars In Semi-Final Victory
Alexia Putellas struck twice as Barcelona defeated Bayern Munich 4-2 at Camp Nou, sealing a 5-3 aggregate success and another place in the Women's Champions League final. The hosts exploded from kick-off, controlled long spells, and survived a late Bayern push, securing a sixth straight appearance in Europe's showpiece match since the 2020-21 season.
Barcelona's extended run at this stage continues to rely on strong home form. The Spanish side have now won 33 of their last 35 Champions League matches on their own ground, with one draw and one defeat. That stretch includes 10 consecutive home victories, producing a dominant combined score of 52-6.

Putellas again proved decisive in Europe. Putellas has been involved in at least one goal in each of the last eight home Champions League appearances, delivering seven goals and eight assists in that time. Against Bayern, Putellas added two more strikes, restoring control after early setbacks and killing the tie with a stylish second-half finish.
Barcelona almost opened the scoring inside the first minute. A driven cross from the right by Caroline Graham Hansen reached the far post. Salma Paralluelo lunged in but could not connect. The warning arrived early for Bayern, who were soon overwhelmed by the hosts' aggressive start and movement down both flanks.
The breakthrough followed on 13 minutes and again involved Graham Hansen. Another precise delivery from the right drifted towards the back post, where Paralluelo arrived unmarked. This time Paralluelo met the ball cleanly, steering a firm finish beyond the goalkeeper and giving Barcelona a deserved early lead.
Bayern responded quickly and levelled four minutes later. A low ball into the area was not cleared, allowing Linda Dallmann to stretch and poke a shot past Cata Coll into the bottom-left corner. The equaliser briefly quietened Camp Nou and reminded Barcelona that the tie remained delicate despite their early dominance.
The home side soon regained control through Putellas in the 22nd minute. A Bayern clearance fell loose on the edge of the box. Putellas reacted first, driving a low strike into the bottom-right corner. That goal restored Barcelona's advantage on the night and their aggregate lead, settling nerves before half-time.
Barcelona tightened their grip just after the interval with two quick goals. Within 13 minutes of the restart, Paralluelo delivered from the flank and Ewa Pajor powered in a strong finish. Four minutes later Putellas struck again, flicking the ball over a shoulder and guiding it into the net, giving Barcelona a 4-1 cushion.
Bayern still pushed and reduced the deficit when Pernille Harder saw a low effort deflect and bounce beyond Coll. The visitors kept pressing, and Barcelona needed Coll to produce a standout save to keep out Arianna Caruso. Linda Dallmann then struck the frame of the goal as Bayern tried to create tension late on.
The German side thought they had set up a nervous ending when Harder scored again, but that effort was ruled out for a foul in the build-up. Bayern could not recover from Barcelona's earlier burst, and the Spanish side managed the closing stages to protect a two-goal margin on the night and a 5-3 aggregate win.
{TABLE_1}Barcelona's dominance also showed in the underlying numbers. The hosts created 3.25 expected goals from 23 attempts, while Bayern produced 0.99 xG from 12 shots. The figures underlined how little space Bayern found. Barcelona's control, especially at Camp Nou, again proved decisive in securing another Women's Champions League final appearance.
