Barcelona's Young Team Needs To Learn From Recent LaLiga Setbacks, Says Hansi Flick

Hansi Flick emphasises the importance of learning from recent LaLiga setbacks for Barcelona's young squad as they prepare for a crucial Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.

Barcelona's coach, Hansi Flick, emphasises the need for his young squad to learn from recent LaLiga setbacks as they prepare for a challenging Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund. Barcelona recently drew 2-2 with Real Betis, allowing Real Madrid to narrow their lead at the top to two points. Despite this, Flick remains optimistic about the team's progress.

Since their impressive 4-0 victory over Real Madrid in October, Barcelona have only managed two wins in six LaLiga matches. However, their Champions League campaign has been more successful, with four victories out of five games. Flick believes that the team's youthful nature means setbacks are part of the learning process.

Flick Urges Barcelona Youngsters to Learn

"In the end it all depends on how the season ends. We are convinced," Flick told reporters. "We have to play the way we want to play and that's how we'll continue to improve. We are very clear about that. We are a very young team and that's normal."

The upcoming match at Westfalenstadion holds special significance for striker Robert Lewandowski, who previously played for Dortmund and won two Bundesliga titles there. This season, Lewandowski has been in exceptional form, scoring 23 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions.

When asked about potential over-reliance on Lewandowski, Flick stated: "We need Robert, but Robert needs the team. A player alone can never win a game by himself." He praised Lewandowski's quality and highlighted his importance in the box.

Araujo's Return from Injury

Defender Ronald Araujo might be available for selection after recovering from a muscle injury sustained during the Copa America while playing for Uruguay. Although he is back in training, Flick did not specify when Araujo would fully return to action.

"We're all happy that Ronald is back," said Flick. "It's fun to have him with us in the training sessions. He's a great presence and the team needs him." Araujo's return could boost morale and provide additional defensive strength.

The focus remains on learning from past mistakes and building unity within the team as they face Dortmund. The outcome of this match will be crucial for Barcelona's Champions League aspirations this season.
