Bassogog's Late Equaliser Prevents Al-Ittihad From Extending Lead In Saudi Pro League

Christian Bassogog scored a late equaliser to deny Al-Ittihad a chance to extend their lead in the Saudi Pro League. The match ended 1-1 against Al-Okhdood.

Christian Bassogog's late equaliser prevented Al-Ittihad from extending their lead to eight points at the top of the Saudi Pro League. The match against Al-Okhdood ended in a 1-1 draw. Despite Al-Hilal's 3-2 loss to Al-Ahli, where Ivan Toney scored a hat-trick, Laurent Blanc's team couldn't fully capitalise but still maintain a six-point lead.

Al-Ittihad faced early pressure after Fawaz Al Soqoor's erratic shot. Petros and Yaseen Al Zubaidi nearly scored for Al-Okhdood. However, Houssem Aouar showcased his skill by receiving Hassan Kadish's pass and scoring past Paulo Vitor, giving the league leaders an advantage.

Bassogog Denies Al-Ittihad Late Victory

Al-Qadsiah secured a late win over Al-Riyadh with Abdulaziz Al Othman's stoppage-time goal, moving them above Al-Nassr into third place. This victory marks their fourth consecutive win against Riyadh teams in the Pro League, although they had to work hard for it.

The first half lacked clear opportunities, but Julian Quinones nearly scored just before the hour mark, only to be denied by the woodwork. A crucial moment occurred in the 62nd minute when Mohamed Konate received a second yellow card for a reckless challenge in midfield.

Al-Okhdood continued to press and almost equalised before halftime when Naif Asiri hit the post, leaving Predrag Rajkovic helpless. Six minutes into the second half, Karim Benzema was thwarted by an excellent goal-line clearance. Later, his impressive run ended with a shot saved by Vitor.

Bassogog's decisive strike came in the seventh minute of added time when Al-Ittihad failed to clear a corner. The ball landed at Bassogog's feet, and he fired it into the top corner, securing a point for his team.

Drama in Stoppage Time

In another dramatic finish, Al-Qadsiah pushed for a winner and were rewarded when Al Othman scored past Milan Borjan in stoppage time. Although Faiz Selemani almost equalised for Al-Riyadh late on, his effort hit the post, allowing Michel's side to secure all three points.

This round of matches highlighted both teams' resilience and determination as they navigated challenging situations on their quest for success in the Saudi Pro League.
