Bayer Leverkusen have secured the services of Jarell Quansah from Liverpool. The defender has committed to a five-year deal with the Bundesliga team, who reportedly paid £35 million for his transfer. Quansah, who joined Liverpool's academy at age five, made 58 senior appearances for the Reds, contributing to their Premier League and EFL Cup victories.
During his time in the league, Quansah played 30 matches, winning 81.1% of his tackles and 58.4% of his duels. He also completed 89.4% of his passes and scored twice. His performances were crucial in Liverpool's success during his tenure with the club.

Quansah was a key player in England's Under-21 Euro triumph, starting every match. Reflecting on his move to Germany, he said, "I was able to get a good impression of the team and the club when Liverpool played Leverkusen in the Champions League last season." He added that Leverkusen's ambitious goals were clearly outlined during negotiations.
Leverkusen's sporting director Simon Rolfes expressed delight at signing Quansah, describing him as one of England's most promising central defenders. "He made a very impressive contribution to a Liverpool defence full of world-class players," Rolfes stated. He believes Quansah will add dynamism and strength to their defence.
Quansah is expected to fill the void left by Jonathan Tah, who moved to Bayern Munich after ten seasons with Leverkusen. This summer, Quansah is Leverkusen’s second signing from the Premier League following goalkeeper Mark Flekkens' arrival from Brentford.
Liverpool are reportedly interested in Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi as they look to bolster their defensive options following Quansah's departure. Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag aims to build on Xabi Alonso’s legacy at Leverkusen after their successful double win in the 2023-24 season and finishing second in the Bundesliga last year.
The transfer marks a significant step for both clubs as they adjust their squads for upcoming challenges. With new talents joining their ranks, both teams are poised for an exciting season ahead.
