Bayern Munich Draws 3-3 With Heidenheim After 100th-Minute Own Goal

Bayern Munich escaped with a 3-3 draw against bottom club Heidenheim after a 100th-minute own goal by Diant Ramaj at Allianz Arena. The result denied Heidenheim a vital victory in the relegation battle, despite Budu Zivzivadze scoring twice in a dramatic Bundesliga contest.

The match swung several times. Heidenheim moved 2-0 in front before Bayern Munich levelled through a Leon Goretzka double. Zivzivadze then struck again on 76 minutes, but Michael Olise’s late curling effort hit the woodwork and bounced in off goalkeeper Ramaj for the final twist.

Bayern Munich Draws 3-3 With Heidenheim

Heidenheim took control early when Budu Zivzivadze opened the scoring on 22 minutes. Zivzivadze timed a back-post run to meet a looping cross from Marnon Busch, and Jonas Urbig could not keep the effort out. Nine minutes later, Busch released Eren Dinkci, who rounded the Bayern goalkeeper.

Dinkci calmly rolled into an empty net for 2-0, putting Bayern Munich under heavy pressure from Heidenheim. The hosts responded just before half-time, when Leon Goretzka struck a free-kick into the top-left corner. Goretzka then equalised near the hour, finishing from close range after Michael Olise’s corner caused problems.

Zivzivadze restored Heidenheim’s advantage on 76 minutes, cutting inside Michael Olise before bending a shot into the far corner. Late in stoppage time, Olise tried a hopeful attempt from distance. The ball hit the frame of the goal and rebounded off Diant Ramaj, crossing the line for the 100th-minute own goal.

The expected goals numbers showed how close Bayern Munich and Heidenheim were across the 90 minutes and beyond. Bayern produced 2.21 xG from 23 shots, while Heidenheim generated 2.13 xG from only 12 attempts, and remain three points behind the relegation play-off position.

Budu Zivzivadze’s display carried extra meaning for Heidenheim and the Bundesliga records of the club. Zivzivadze has now scored in four successive Bundesliga matches, the longest streak for a Heidenheim player, beating Eren Dinkci’s run of three straight games in September 2023.

There was also a notable contribution from Arijon Ibrahimovic, who is on loan at Heidenheim from Bayern Munich. Ibrahimovic supplied the assist for Zivzivadze’s second goal and created three chances overall, the joint-highest figure in the match, highlighting the influence on both sides of this 3-3 draw.
