Vincent Kompany expressed his disappointment following Bayern Munich's unexpected 3-0 loss to Feyenoord in the Champions League. Despite Bayern's 30 attempts and an expected goals tally of 2.4, they were unable to score in Rotterdam. This match marked one of the rare instances since Opta started tracking data in 2003-04 where a team had so many shots without scoring.
Bayern's defeat places them at 15th in the 36-team standings, making a qualifying play-off for the last 16 highly probable. Kompany was particularly frustrated with his team's inability to convert chances, especially after Leroy Sane hit the post and Feyenoord's goalkeeper Justin Bijlow made several crucial saves.

Reflecting on the match, Kompany acknowledged Feyenoord's deserved victory. "I have to be honest, Feyenoord deserved their win. They fought hard and ran," he stated. He noted that Bayern had numerous opportunities and believed they could have scored multiple goals but failed to capitalize on their chances.
The defeat is notable as only two other Champions League matches recorded more attempts without scoring: Sporting Braga vs CFR Cluj in September 2012 with 38 shots and Lyon vs Rangers in October 2007 with 32 shots. Kompany admitted that both individual and team performances fell short of expectations.
Despite their efforts, Bayern couldn't find the back of the net. Kompany emphasized that while they worked hard, it wasn't enough on this occasion. The team had moments where they could have scored but failed to seize those opportunities effectively.
Bayern Munich now faces a challenging path ahead in the Champions League. Their position in the standings requires them to regroup and improve if they wish to advance further in the competition.
