Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich reveals this Chelsea star as the toughest he's ever faced

London, Feb 27: Chelsea's star Summer signing Alvaro Morata might be struggling in the Premier League for the time being. However, the Spanish international has received a huge acclaim from one of Europe's budding youngster as Bayern Munich's young defender Joshua Kimmich.

Kimmich has labelled the Chelsea forward Morata as the toughest player he has ever played against.

Morata and Kimmich faced each other during the Spaniard's Juventus stay in a Champions League round of 16 clashes in 2016 which Bayern apparently ended up winning 6-4 on aggregate.

Morata has scored 10 league goals this season so far, however, has been criticised for his recent performance with the Blues.

Kimmich, during his Bayern stay, has faced all the top players from Messi to Ronaldo to Neymar. Surprisingly the German versatile defender in a recent video chat with GOAL has suggested that he believes the Chelsea forward during his Juventus time was very good and he rates him higher than all the other players he has ever faced.

“It was very tough to play against him because he has a very strong body, he is very fast and has a good technique,” Kimmich said, answering questions fans posed to him via Goal. “So it wasn’t easy to play against him.”

The 23-year-old right-back also talked about the current batch of promising youngsters. Although he named his Bayern team-mate, Kingsley Coman as one of the hottest young prospects of the world, however, found it difficult to pick just one outstanding name of his generation.

“I think there are a lot of good players,” he said. “Neymar is not that old but he’s not my age. Paul Pogba is two years older than me and Paulo Dybala I think is one year older than me.

“For me, Kingsley Coman is a greater player, but he’s one year younger than me.

“I think we have a good generation with a lot of very good players.”

Kimmich is currently having another good season under his belt and the youngster has already appeared 20 times in Bundesliga this term as the new boss Jupp Heynckes prefers the youngster as the first choice right-full back in the team.

Bayern will be up in action this weekend against Freiburg and the Bavarian will be hoping to maintain the top spot.
