Bazoumana Tour Joins Newcastle United From Hoffenheim Ahead Of Premier League Season
Bazoumana Toure has completed a reported 42m move to Newcastle United, fulfilling a long-held ambition. The 20-year-old winger joins on a long-term contract after one season with Hoffenheim. Toure arrives following Ivory Coast’s run to the last 32 at the World Cup during the summer.
Toure described strong emotions after sealing the transfer and spoke about long-term dreams of English football. "I'm very, very happy to be here. It was my dream since I was young to play in the Premier League for a big team like Newcastle," Toure told the club's website. "Newcastle is like a family, which will help me show my best on the pitch. I will give my best every single day for this shirt. I'm very excited to join Newcastle and I can't wait to meet my team-mates, the supporters and everybody at the club."

Toure made the switch from Hoffenheim after a single full campaign in the Bundesliga, where the winger featured 45 times in all competitions. Newcastle described the agreement as a long-term deal. The club confirmed the arrival on July 5, 2026, with an announcement shared on social media platforms.
During that season in Germany, Toure produced 17 goal contributions for Hoffenheim, scoring five goals and supplying 12 assists. The winger also completed 64 dribbles, the most by any Hoffenheim player since Toure’s debut. Only Andrej Kramaric, with 65, created more chances than Toure’s 59 in that same period.

Toure’s performances for Ivory Coast add further evidence of development before joining Newcastle United. The winger appeared three times at the World Cup, starting once, as Ivory Coast advanced to the last 32. That campaign ended with defeat against Norway, yet the tournament provided important exposure at international level.
Toure is Eddie Howe's first outfield signing of the current summer window and second addition overall. Goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen arrived earlier in the close season. Activity around St. James' Park is intense, with Anthony Gordon leaving for Barcelona and Sandro Tonali nearing a 100m transfer to Tottenham. Newcastle also missed out on Victor Munoz, who chose Liverpool, while Bruno Guimaraes continues to be linked with a possible move away.
Newcastle head coach Howe explained why the club moved for Bazoumana Toure and highlighted the winger’s profile. "We're really pleased to have been able to bring Bazoumana to Newcastle United," Newcastle boss Howe said. "He has shown his ability to perform in a top European league during his time in Germany and has gained really good experience with his national team, especially at this summer's World Cup. We feel that he's a player with a really high ceilinghe's somebody who we believe can offer us something different. He also has a lot of potential to unlock, and we're really looking forward to working with him."
Toure now enters the Premier League at a moment of change for Newcastle United, with major transfers both in and out of the squad. The winger’s World Cup exposure, Bundesliga statistics and age profile suggest long-term value, while supporters across Europe and the Middle East will track how quickly Toure adapts to English football.
