Madrid, May 29: David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane's former Real Madrid teammate, congratulated the French chief coach on beating Atletico Madrid and w3inning the Champions League title on Saturday.

"Congratulations my friend this couldn't have happened to a nicer and more passionate person... Hala Madrid," Beckham wrote, alongside a photo of him with Zidane, on his official Instagram account.

Former Real Madrid star Raul Gonzalez also congratulated the club, describing the match as "exciting", reports Efe.

Real Madrid defeated Atletico Madrid 5-3 on penalties to win their 11th Champions League title on Saturday.
