Beckham best for World Cup: Capello

Posted By: Staff

London, Apr 3: It seems with every game Midfielder David Beckham's chances of going to the World Cup is increasing. Many thought England young guns Aaron Lennon and Shaun Wright-Phillips would edge out Beckham.

A report in The Sun states that boss Fabio Capello was thrilled with Beckham's game against Ukraine and Slovakia, and reckons his break at the end of last year did him good.

"David is in very good form. He did not play until Jan and for that reason he is fresh," Capello said. "He also played very well in the last game for AC Milan - he was their best player. His corners, free-kicks and crosses are very important. He is still one of the best," he added.
