Belgium are shifting their focus to the Nations League after a disappointing Euro 2024 campaign. Domenico Tedesco's team reached the last 16 in Germany but were eliminated by France due to Jan Vertonghen's own goal. Belgium managed only one win in four games, finishing second in Group E behind Romania.
Throughout the tournament, Belgium had 20 shots on target but scored just two goals, both in their victory over Romania. Forward Charles De Ketelaere, who played only six minutes, emphasised that they are not dwelling on past failures. "We talked about it yesterday so we can leave it behind," De Ketelaere said.

De Ketelaere believes that better performance in the group stage could have led to an easier opponent than France in the last-16. He added, "We should have done better in the group stage so that we got an easier opponent in the last-16 than a top side like France."
Belgium are now concentrating on the Nations League, where they will face Israel and France in League A Group 2 during this international break. De Ketelaere is optimistic about their chances and is eager to contribute more significantly. "I just see it as two matches we want to win," he stated.
The forward is confident that Belgium can perform well and advance despite their European Championship setback. "The group is also still a [good chance to advance], even though the European Championship was not what we expected," he noted.
De Ketelaere expressed his readiness to make an impact and hopes for more playing time. "I'm ready to show myself and do my best. I hope I get my chance," he said. He believes there will be more opportunities to play and aims to contribute positively.
"It's not just the coach's fault because it's the players on the field who carry out the instructions," De Ketelaere remarked, highlighting that responsibility lies with both players and coaching staff. He stressed that moving forward requires focusing on upcoming games.
Belgium's aim is clear: to put their Euro 2024 disappointment behind them and strive for success in the Nations League. With determination and a fresh focus, they hope to reclaim their form and achieve better results.
