Jude Bellingham remains optimistic about Kylian Mbappe's future contributions to Real Madrid, despite the forward's missed penalty in their 2-0 loss to Liverpool. This defeat marked Real Madrid's third loss in five Champions League matches this season, making them the first defending champions to lose three group stage games after winning the title.

Liverpool maintained their flawless start under Arne Slot with second-half goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo. This victory brought them back to the top of the table. Mbappe had a chance to equalise Mac Allister's goal, but his 61st-minute penalty was saved by Caoimhin Kelleher.

"We turned it over so much that they kept control," he noted. He admitted Liverpool showed more determination, which was disappointing for Real Madrid.

The England midfielder stressed the importance of winning their next three games to advance in the competition. "We are disappointed at how we have performed," he said, highlighting the need for improvement against Europe's best-performing team.
