Thomas Tuchel praised Jude Bellingham as a unique talent but emphasised the need for him to focus his intensity on opponents rather than referees or teammates. During England's 3-1 loss to Senegal, Bellingham believed he had scored an equaliser, only for it to be ruled out due to Levi Colwill's handball. This decision, confirmed by VAR, left Bellingham visibly frustrated with the referee.
Tuchel expressed that Bellingham is often misunderstood, even by his own mother. However, he acknowledged the midfielder's passion and insisted it should be directed positively. "I think he brings an edge which we welcome and is needed if we want to achieve big things," Tuchel told Talksport. "He has the fire and I don't want to dim this down."

Tuchel believes Bellingham's fiery nature can sometimes intimidate those around him. He stressed the importance of directing this energy towards achieving goals rather than causing friction within the team or with officials. "It needs to be channelled towards the opponent and towards our goal," Tuchel explained.
The coach noted that Bellingham's intensity can evoke mixed feelings. "You sometimes see the explosion towards referees and the anger in his game," Tuchel said. He added that if this energy is harnessed correctly, it could become a valuable asset for any team.
Tuchel shared a personal insight into how Bellingham's demeanour can be perceived differently by others. He mentioned that while some see a well-mannered young man, others might find his passion overwhelming. "If he smiles, he wins everyone," Tuchel remarked.
Despite these challenges, Tuchel remains optimistic about Bellingham's potential. He described him as a special player who possesses qualities that are rare in football today. The key lies in guiding him to use his passion constructively on the field.
