Bengaluru FC are set to take on fellow strugglers Chennaiyin FC in a crucial Indian Super League (ISL 2023-24) match on Wednesday (February 7).
This is the first match for Chennaiyin after the ISL restart and the Marina Machans will be hoping to resurrect their season. They are currently placed 9th in the table with just 12 points after 12 matches. Their opponents Bengaluru are in a deeper hole, as they are currently 11th in the table with 11 points in 13 matches.

It will be a massive challenge for both teams to find the winning rhythm as they have been devoid of that. Bengaluru are winless in the last five matches whereas Chennaiyin's solitary win in the last five matches came against Gokulam Kerala in the Kalinga Super Cup.
The Blues need a positive influx and the home support can be a pivotal factor. Despite Sunil Chhetri, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu in the team, they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Punjab FC last Saturday. The former ISL winners, who were also the runners-up last season, need a win to find themselves back in the playoff places, but they need to get the key victory for that.
Chennaiyin will also have to sort out their four foreigners for the match. Jordan Murray is likely to lead the line while they may play Edwards and Cirkovic as the centre-back pair. Rafa Crivellaro may get the nod ahead of Battochhio in the midfield for the visitors.

The two teams have played each other 14 times. Bengaluru FC have the upper hand with 7 victories to their names, whereas the Marina Machans have registered only 4 victories.
