Al-Ittihad clinched a thrilling 2-1 victory over Al-Taawoun, with Karim Benzema scoring in stoppage time. Benzema's decisive goal came in the 95th minute, following a skillful run and pass from Houssem Aouar. This marked Benzema's 14th goal of the Saudi Pro League season, breaking Al-Taawoun's resistance after Musa Barrow had equalised late in the first half. Abdulrahman Al Obud initially put Al-Ittihad ahead in the 21st minute.

The win propelled Al-Ittihad three points clear of Al-Hilal at the top of the Pro League standings. Al-Hilal will have an opportunity to draw level on points when they play against Damac on Saturday. Meanwhile, Al-Taawoun remains ninth in the league, having won only one of their last 13 encounters with Al-Ittihad.
