Manchester City's chances of retaining their Premier League title appear bleak, according to Bernardo Silva. The team trails Liverpool by 14 points, with Liverpool having an extra game to play. City’s recent form, with only two wins in their last ten league matches, has severely impacted their title defence. Silva admits that only a miracle could revive their hopes.
Silva told Sky Sports, "I would say [winning the title is] not impossible because in football there are no impossibles, but right now, Man City are completely out of the title race. There's no question about that. It's too late for us. People always say that you don't win a league until January but you can lose it, and this season the reality is we've lost it."

At the beginning of November, City led the table but have since managed just eight points from ten games. Only Leicester City and Southampton have fared worse during this period. Historically, no Premier League team has overcome a deficit greater than 13 points to claim the title. Arsenal achieved this feat against Manchester United in the 1997-98 season.
Currently sitting sixth in the league standings before facing West Ham on Saturday, Silva emphasises focusing on climbing up rather than chasing Liverpool. "Right now it's about accepting the reality," he stated. "I'm not looking at Liverpool; we're sixth or seventh in the league."
Their recent victory over Leicester City marked only their second win in 14 matches across all competitions this year. Opta's supercomputer predicts City is most likely to finish third with a probability of 34.2%. Silva aims to secure points game by game to improve their position.
As City navigates through these challenges, they aim to gather momentum and improve their standing by focusing on immediate goals rather than distant aspirations.
