Anthony Elanga holds Alexander Isak in high regard, considering him the top striker globally. Elanga is confident that Isak will remain unfazed by the ongoing speculation about his future at Newcastle United. Liverpool reportedly showed interest in a £120 million deal for Isak, but Newcastle has made it clear he is not available for transfer.
Elanga recently transferred to Newcastle from Nottingham Forest for a reported £52 million. He is eager to play alongside his international teammate, Isak, at the club level. Despite the rumours surrounding Isak's future, Elanga believes the 25-year-old will maintain his performance levels without distraction.

Last season, Isak was the second-highest scorer in the Premier League. He netted 23 goals, only behind Mohamed Salah's 29. His impressive tally came from 20.4 expected goals (xG) and 99 shots, with 46 on target. Additionally, Isak converted 18 of his 36 big chances throughout the season.
Elanga expressed admiration for Isak's focus and dedication. "I always try and focus on the present and the now, and Alex being the person he is, one of the best attackers in the world," Elanga told The Athletic. He praised Isak's ability to stay focused despite external noise.
In terms of assists last season, only Salah (18) and Newcastle's Jacob Murphy (12) surpassed Elanga's tally of 11 in the Premier League. This achievement marked the most assists by a Forest player in a top-flight campaign since Bryan Roy managed 11 during the 1994-95 season.
Elanga values his partnership with Isak at Newcastle. "There are so many great partnerships [at Newcastle], but it would be great, Alex and me," he said. He appreciates Isak not only as a player but also as an individual who offers valuable advice and support.
"A player of his stature, there's always going to be noise around him," Elanga added about Isak. He emphasised that despite constant speculation, Isak remains committed to Newcastle United for now. Elanga focuses on their daily interactions and training sessions together.
Newcastle United is set to kick off their 2025-26 Premier League campaign against Aston Villa on August 16. As they prepare for this match, both Elanga and Isak aim to make significant contributions to their team's success.
