De Gea, 27, has been the subject of ongoing speculation over a move to Madrid since his transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu sensationally collapsed due to a faulty fax machine in 2015.
The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper has continued to earn rave reviews in the Premier League, firmly establishing himself as one of the best keepers in the world amid the ongoing rumours of a return to Spain.
Many stories continuously claim that the keeper who is contracted to United until 2019 - will end up at Madrid, who have also been earlier linked with Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois.
However, in an interview with the Daily Star Sunday, the current Spain number one has poured cold water on all these speculations and has revealed that he is currently well settled in Manchester and England and is excited about his United future.
"Time flies by so quickly. I've been here seven years and I am happy", the shot-stopper said. "A lot has happened to me - some very good, some not so good, - but to be honest I am just really happy.
"I feel like an important player in the dressing room. I am one of the oldest in the team. It makes me happy to see the younger players coming through - and trying to make United big."
De Gea joined Manchester United in 2011 from Atletico Madrid and after some initial struggle in his primary days, the 27-year-old slowly but surely established himself amongst the world's most elite goalkeepers.
The Spanish keeper is currently the highest paid keeper in the league and is reportedly earning a £200k-per-week but as per some reports United are keen to tie De Gea down to a further new deal with his existing contract and could hand him as much as £300k-per-week.
The goalkeeper has played 27 matches for the second placed United side this season and has managed most clean sheet, 15 in Premier League till now.
