Big Sam wants favourite defender Kone at Everton

Bengaluru, December 11: Everton manager Sam Allardyce would move for Sunderland defender Lamine Kone a second time if he could prove he is fit.

It was none other than Big Sam who signed Kone at Sunderland two years ago and the centre-half turned their season almost single-handedly.

Kone has been out of form since then, with a move to Everton collapsing and causing problems with Sunderland last season and he is now recovering from a knee injury.

Sunderland are now ready to let Kone go cheaply to get him off their payroll and his former manager Sam Allardyce wants him which is hardly a surprise.

The Ivorian was one of the best defenders in the Premier League when he moved to Sunderland playing a key role in their survival and would be a great addition to Everton under Big Sam who loves the player.

Everton are reportedly preparing for a huge January bid and are also ready to sell in order to buy. Summer signing Sandro Ramirez may be allowed to return to Spain on loan with Valencia following his poor start to the season at the Goodison Park.

Big Sam is believed to be eyeing a new striker and could apparently make an audacious attempt for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

There’s also believed to be interest in midfield powerhouse Steven N’Zonzi, who admits he will leave Sevilla after a bust-up with boss Eduardo Berizzo.

Another player reportedly of interest to Everton is Arsenal's Theo Walcott. The winger could be allowed to leave Arsenal in January but is also said to be wanted by Southampton and West Ham.

Big Sam is yet to face defeat since he took charge at Everton. The former English manager guided the Toffees to a draw against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on Sunday despite being the second best team by some distance.
