Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Yves Bissouma will be suspended for Tottenham's opening Premier League match against Leicester. This decision follows a video Bissouma posted on social media, showing him inhaling nitrous oxide last weekend.
The incident took place just hours after Tottenham's final pre-season game, where they were defeated 3-2 by Bayern Munich in the Visit Malta Cup. Bissouma, who played 28 matches last season, later issued an apology for his actions.

In his pre-match press conference, Postecoglou discussed the situation: "I've been in the game for a long time. When a situation like this arises, I've tried to look at them in a couple of ways," he said. "First, there's a person. That's Biss and he's made a poor decision."
Postecoglou further elaborated on the consequences: "There are still sanctions involved, and some of those are educational. The second part of that is he's a footballer, with responsibilities. He won't be available on Monday."
Bissouma expressed regret over his actions: "I want to apologise for these videos. This was a severe lack of judgement. I understand how serious this is and the health risks involved, and I also take my responsibility as a footballer and role model very seriously."
Despite his apology, Tottenham decided to exclude him from the squad for their trip to King Power Stadium on Monday. Postecoglou emphasized that Bissouma needs to rebuild trust with both him and the team.
"The door is open for him and hopefully we can help him realise the decisions he makes impact the group," Postecoglou stated. "[It's down to] behaviour, it's that simple. It's about making better decisions."
He added that Bissouma was very apologetic to everyone involved but stressed that apologies are only part of addressing such issues.
The incident highlights the importance of responsible behaviour among professional athletes, especially those who serve as role models to many fans worldwide.
