Blaise Matuidi travels to England to finalise his future

Manchester, July 5: Paris Saint-Germain midfielder and France international Blaise Matuidi has suddenly left the French camp in between Euro 2016 yesterday (July 4) and traveled to England to finalise his club football future.

It is believed that the 29-year-old Frenchman is closely linked with English Premier League giants Manchester United and he might settle a deal with the Red Devils for the coming season.

Matuidi currently plays for French Ligue champions Paris Saint-Germain. He joined the club in 2011 from Saint-Etienne. It has been a wonderful journey so far with the champions. He has won 4 league titles and was also named the French Player of the Year in 2015.

Primarily a holding midfielder, Blaise Matuidi can be fielded anywhere in the central midfield due to his versatility. His work rate on the pitch is exceptionally well and he can cover a lot of ground running to and fro.

Matuidi's addition to Jose Mourinho's Manchester United will be a huge boost to the side as they were looking for a central midfielder for a long time.

Currently, United have players like Morgan Schneiderlin, Michael Carrick, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Ander Herrera at the heart of midfield.

Jose Mourinho is known for his admiration for players with high work rate on the pitch. At Chelsea he acquired players with similar qualities like Michael Essien, John Obi Mikel, Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas etc.

Although, it is yet to be confirmed which club exactly he will be joining as Pep Guardiola too is looking for a central midfielder to replace Yaya Toure, it is being speculated that due to Matuidi's connection with super agent Mino Raiola, chances are there that his likely destination might be the Theatre of Dreams.

Manchester United have already signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan who are also associated with Raiola.

He is expected to return to Didier Deschamps's France team training 16:00BST today (July 5) as France take on Germany in a crucial Euro 2016 seni-final encounter.
