Bengaluru, August 14: As Federation Cup champions Bengaluru get ready to take on North Korean club 4.25 SC in the crucial AFC Cup zonal semifinal tie at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on August 23, skipper Sunil Chhetri has exuded confidence.
The Blues are currently in Spain as part of their pre-season tour. They played two friendlies against superior club sides UCAM Murcia and FC Cartagena.
The Blues wind up the tour with a game against UAE First Division side Baniyas SC on Tuesday.
Talking about the training and the tough match against 4.25SC, Chhetri told Bengaluru FC website, "We are putting in two sessions a day here, trying to get a grasp of what the boss wants from us along with getting into shape. We've reached a stage in the competition where the level is consistently good. One weak moment and you will get punished".
Though Albert Roca's boys lost the friendlies they played so far, Chhetri was banking on the positives.
"Both games were against good opposition who came out hard against us. It was good to test ourselves against teams that are technically sound. To put it out there, we have a lot of work to do and very little time to do it in. Stitching a rhythm together for a squad that's almost brand new is always going to be tough. But the boys have been applying themselves and that is encouraging."
