A shocking and painful moment unfolded on the football pitch recently when a Bolivia league player was struck by a firework, resulting in a serious testicular injury.
In the match between The Strongest and Blooming, The Strongest won the match 3-2, but their match winner Juan Godoy was hit by a firework, right into the testicular area.

The Strongest ultras group opened fireworks after Godoy scored the winner. In the injury time of the match, a firecracker named 'Llorona', which goes like a rocket through the air horizontally, struck the player. During the match, the forward was hit by the unexpected explosion, causing him to collapse immediately, clutching his groin in agony. Medics quickly rushed to his aid to provide assistance after the distressing incident.
Bolivian media outlet El Deber reported that the footballer sustained a contusion to his inner thigh alongside a testicular hematoma - essentially a painful bruise and swelling in the sensitive area due to the firework blast. Apart from that, the doctors have also diagnosed Godoy with Orchitis, which is inflammation of the testicle.
The Ultras group also penned an apology to the Paraguayan player after the accident and vowed not to let off firecrackers in upcoming matches.
"We would like to address all our fans to express our sincere apologies for the events that occurred. It was never our intention to cause harm to any player or member of the coaching staff. We always seek to encourage and contribute, not to put anyone at risk," the statement wrote.
The Strongest, a renowned club of Bolivia, thus emerged level on points at the top of the league table with the victory.
