Bologna's head coach, Vincenzo Italiano, is gearing up for a significant Coppa Italia final against AC Milan. This match marks Bologna's second appearance in the final, with their last victory in 1974 against Palermo. The upcoming game at Stadio Olimpico is crucial for Bologna, who have not secured a major title since then.
In this season's Coppa Italia, Bologna has netted 10 goals. The last time they scored more was in the 1997-98 tournament with 11 goals. However, they approach the final without a win in their last three games, including a recent loss to Milan in Serie A.

The clash will be the 15th between these teams in the Coppa Italia. AC Milan leads with six wins compared to Bologna's four, while four matches ended in draws. Milan aims to secure two trophies this season after winning the Supercoppa Italiana.
Italiano expressed enthusiasm about the team's journey and support from fans. "We have great enthusiasm," he stated via TMW. "The Dall'Ara was packed for the semi-final, and we'll have strong support in the final." He emphasised playing a great game and making history after 51 years.
Reflecting on their recent defeat to Milan, Italiano noted it as a learning opportunity. "Every match starts from zero," he said. "We must not forget about Friday when we switched off for 15 minutes." He stressed playing freely and joyfully without regrets.
This isn't Italiano's first Coppa Italia final; he led Fiorentina there in 2023 but lost to Inter. Yet, this match holds more emotional weight as Bologna seeks its first major honour since their last Coppa Italia win over five decades ago.
"It will be emotional," Italiano remarked about the significance of the match for Bologna's city. He acknowledged the anticipation among fans and emphasised playing for them: "Once the referee blows the whistle, we’ll think about the 30,000 Rossoblu animals hungry for victory."
Milan has already celebrated a trophy this season, unlike Bologna. Italiano highlighted that despite past challenges, his team is ready to seize this opportunity and make their supporters proud by bringing home the coveted trophy.
