Borussia Dortmund let a two-goal lead slip, ending in a 2-2 draw against Werder Bremen under interim coach Mike Tullberg. Despite this, they managed to halt their four-game losing streak across all competitions. The club had parted ways with coach Nuri Sahin following a 2-1 Champions League defeat to Bologna, appointing youth coach Tullberg for the match against Werder.
In an eventful start for Tullberg, Dortmund faced early challenges. Felix Nmecha left the field injured, and defender Nico Schlotterbeck received a red card by the 20th minute. However, Serhou Guirassy put Dortmund ahead with a close-range header in the 28th minute. Guirassy also contributed to their second goal when Marco Friedl of Werder turned his cutback into an own goal in the 51st minute.

The visitors found too much space and capitalised on it. Leonardo Bittencourt scored for Werder in the 65th minute, narrowing the gap. Marvin Duksch then equalised with a well-taken finish, leaving Dortmund clinging to secure at least one point from the game. Despite having further chances to win, Werder couldn't find another goal.
Currently, Dortmund sits in 10th place with 26 points, while Bremen is slightly ahead in eighth place with one more point. This result means Dortmund is now winless in four Bundesliga matches, equalling their longest streak since December 2023.
This season has seen Borussia Dortmund drop 11 points from winning positions in the Bundesliga. Only Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen have lost more points from similar situations, each dropping 13 points. On the other hand, Bremen has shown resilience by recovering nine points from losing positions, which is currently the highest in the Bundesliga.
While this draw ended their losing run, it highlights ongoing issues for Dortmund as they struggle to maintain leads and secure victories. The team will need to address these defensive lapses if they hope to climb higher up the league table.
