Berlin, Dec 15: Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans Joachim Watzke has surprisingly made a revelation that he never had confidence in new manager Peter Bosz despite Dortmund's flying start at the beginning of the season.

Dortmund appointed Bosz at the start of the season after parting ways with former Thomas Tuchel last Summer. The former Ajax boss was given a two years contract and started his Dortmund career with blistering form.

The Black and Yellows registered six wins in their first seven games and was at the top of the league at some point ahead of defending champions Bayern Munich. However, things got worse suddenly and they started to slip down the table.

Since October, they only claimed one victory in 13 matches over all competitions and also fumbled down in the Champions league after dropping to third place, with only two points.

Bosz was then soon sacked from the job after their defeat against Werder Bremen two weeks ago and now in a recent revelation, Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans Joachim Watzke has revealed that since the very beginning he had questions over Bosz's impact and was not at all satisfied despite their good run of forms at the start.

“While we won, I never had a secure feeling," Watzke said whilst speaking at an event. "That was always fragile. Now I have the impression that everyone has realised that this does not continue. You have to work constructively and together, and we will do that now.

"Hiring Jurgen Klopp was the right decision at that time, Thomas Tuchel was purely athletic and the right decision. If we were wrong with Bosz, okay. You can criticise us for that. But such a s**tstorm?"

He also claimed that the former manager implied a negative atmosphere in the Dortmund dressing which mainly disrupted the team execution.

"Maybe that's why they didn't give it their all until the end," he added. "I like the players, but that's when I realized. Now I have the impression that everyone understood that things could not go on like this."

Dortmund have now appointed former FC Koln boss Peter Stoger as Bosz's successor on an interim basis and he registered his first win this week with a 2-0 win over Mainz.
