Borussia Dortmund join the race for in-demand winger Malcom

After Dembele headed to Camp Nou, Dortmund tried to land Malcom, but were turned down and will push again to land their prime target in the summer.

Bordeaux winger Malcom

Bengaluru, February 27: German giants Borussia Dortmund have launched an official bid to rival Bayern Munich for Bordeaux star winger Malcom.

The Brazilian has been one of the most discussed names in the transfer market in the past few months and it was reported a few days ago that Bayern Munich are also in the race.

Now the race for the fleet-footed Brazilian has heated up more with the emergence of Borussia Dortmund in the scene.

Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United were all known to be admirers of the 20-year-old but the German pair are now front-runners for the signature of the talented wide forward.

The German pair have stolen a march on Tottenham who opted to sign Lucas Moura last month after their enquiries for Malcom ended in a smoke.

But despite adding Moura, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was set for another attempt to sign the Brazil youth international.

Dortmund are a whopping 20 points behind Bayern in the Bundesliga are still looking to replace Ousmane Dembele who joined Barcelona last year.

After Dembele headed to Camp Nou, Dortmund tried to land Malcom, but were turned down and will push again to land their prime target in the summer.

Bordeaux are resigned to losing Malcom at the end of the season, but are demanding more than £50million for their prized asset who has bagged eight Ligue 1 goals this term.

Bayern are looking to add a new winger with Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery who are both 34 and nearing the end of their time at the Allianz Arena.

The Samba wonderkid admitted he wanted out last month but new boss Gus Poyet told him he was staying until the end of the campaign.
