Bournemouth's head coach, Andoni Iraola, has expressed concerns about the club's current transfer activities. Despite a busy summer, most changes have involved players leaving rather than joining. Key departures include Milos Kerkez to Liverpool and centre-backs Ilya Zabarnyi and Dean Huijsen to Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, respectively.
To address these gaps, Bournemouth signed Bafode Diakite to strengthen their central defence. Additionally, Adrien Truffert was acquired from Rennes as a replacement for Kerkez. Iraola's team finished ninth last season, narrowly missing European qualification by nine points.

Iraola acknowledged the need for more signings before the Premier League opener against Arne Slot's Liverpool. He stated that while they are not yet where they want to be, significant changes are expected by the end of the transfer window. "It's not about [us taking] the next step, it's about preparing for the next season," said Iraola.
The coach is optimistic about Diakite's potential debut on Friday, despite his recent unveiling on Wednesday. "Diakite has trained for two days [and is] physically ready to go. If not tomorrow then, [he will play] next week," Iraola mentioned.
The upcoming match against Liverpool marks an important test for Bournemouth. Iraola hopes the team can quickly adapt to new changes and focus on the season ahead. "We are the first game and a lot of people will be watching us," he noted.
Iraola emphasised that this match would provide insights into their current standing and readiness for the challenges ahead. He remarked, "It will be a big game. It's going to be a good test for us and a place where we can see where we are at."
