Bournemouth Aims For Vital Points Against Crystal Palace In Premier League Clash

Bournemouth seeks to secure valuable points against Crystal Palace in the Premier League. With recent performances and player insights, both teams are focused on improving their standings as the season approaches its conclusion.

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola anticipates a challenging match against Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Bournemouth recently secured their first win in nearly two months by defeating Fulham 1-0, ending a six-game winless streak. They currently hold eighth place in the league, keeping their hopes for European qualification alive. Last season, Bournemouth finished 12th with 48 points, and Iraola aims to surpass that total with a victory at Palace.

Crystal Palace have faced difficulties lately, suffering heavy defeats to Manchester City and Newcastle United in their last two league matches. These losses ended a six-game unbeaten run across all competitions for the Eagles. Currently sitting 12th in the table, they trail Bournemouth by five points. Captain Marc Guehi emphasised the importance of moving past these setbacks and focusing on upcoming challenges.

Bournemouth Faces Crystal Palace in Key Match

Bournemouth's recent clean sheet was crucial after conceding multiple goals in previous matches. "In the last few games, the opponents were scoring two goals," Iraola noted. "When you concede two goals, it is very difficult to win a Premier League game." This defensive improvement will be key as they face Crystal Palace.

Eberechi Eze has been instrumental for Crystal Palace, contributing to 19 goals in his last 30 home appearances (12 goals, seven assists). He also scored twice against Bournemouth in May 2023. For Bournemouth, Evanilson has netted six times in his last nine away games. Alongside Justin Kluivert's ten away goals this season, it's the first time two Bournemouth players have scored five or more away goals in a top-flight campaign.

Palace have struggled against Bournemouth recently, failing to score or win in their last three encounters (D1 L2). However, they are strong at Selhurst Park, winning their last three home league matches. Manager Oliver Glasner boasts a 50% win ratio at home since taking charge.

Match Prediction and Statistics

The match is predicted to end in a draw. Despite Palace's previous dominance over Bournemouth from May 2019 to May 2023, they haven't won or scored against them since then. Bournemouth have kept clean sheets in their last three meetings with Palace; only against Swansea City have they had a longer streak without conceding (four games between 2016 and 2018).

Bournemouth have been prolific on the road this season, scoring 32 away league goals—only Liverpool have more with 40. This is their highest tally in a top-flight campaign, surpassing last season's total of 27.

OPTA's win probability gives Crystal Palace a slight edge with a 39.2% chance of victory compared to Bournemouth's 34.9%, while the likelihood of a draw stands at 25.9%.
