Bournemouth's manager, Andoni Iraola, expressed dissatisfaction with his team's performance in their 2-2 draw against West Ham. Despite securing a late equaliser, Iraola felt the team missed an opportunity to win. Evanilson initially put Bournemouth ahead after capitalising on a mistake by Alphonse Areola. However, West Ham responded with two headers from Niclas Fullkrug and Jarrod Bowen, turning the game around.
West Ham's Graham Potter was pleased with the result, noting their unbeaten streak against Bournemouth now extends to eight games. Although they took the lead after halftime, they couldn't maintain it. West Ham remains one of three teams yet to win a Premier League match after trailing this season, alongside Southampton and Ipswich Town.

Bournemouth dominated several match statistics, including a higher expected goals (xG) total of 2.15 compared to West Ham's 0.65. Despite this dominance, Iraola viewed the outcome as two points lost rather than one gained. "You have to value one point here," he said, "but I think you probably value it more when you don't deserve it."
Evanilson's late goal secured a point for Bournemouth after Dean Huijsen's header found him in the 79th minute. The goal was confirmed following a VAR review for offside. This result moved Bournemouth up to ninth in the league standings but extended their winless streak to six Premier League games.
Iraola highlighted defensive issues as a reason for not securing victory: "We could not concede two goals in this game." He noted that conceding from two crosses was costly and stressed the need for better defensive effectiveness. Meanwhile, Potter acknowledged his substitutes' impact and expressed disappointment over defending Bournemouth's equaliser.
The West Ham bench questioned the free-kick leading to Bournemouth's equaliser, but Potter refrained from commenting on its validity. He stated: "I haven't seen it back to be honest... But obviously we're disappointed with how we defended the goal."
Bournemouth recently exited the FA Cup against Manchester City and are experiencing their longest winless run since February 2024 when they went seven games without a victory. Despite scoring frequently, Iraola believes defensive lapses are hindering their success.
West Ham has not won in four top-flight matches and currently sits 15th in the table. Potter described the match as tough but commended his team's commitment despite some first-half lapses: "It was OK without being great... It was a tough Premier League game and a hard-earned point."
This draw reflects both teams' struggles to secure wins despite competitive performances. As they aim for improvement, addressing defensive vulnerabilities will be crucial for future success.
