Brandon Fernandes joins Mumbai City FC, tied down till 2027

Mumbai City FC have confirmed the signing of Brandon Fernandes on a free transfer on Saturday.

The creative midfielder joins the defending ISL Cup winners on a three-year contract after leaving FC Goa after 7 Years.

Fernandes is tied down by the Islanders till 2027, while there is also an option to extend the contract by an additional season.

The 29-year-old made his professional debut over a decade ago. He had a brief stint with the Islanders in 2015. During his career, he has won the ISL League Winners' Shield (2019-20), the Super Cup (2019), and the Durand Cup (2021) with the Gaurs.

Brandon had a decent last season, where he scored three goals and made four assists, with one goal against Mumbai City FC in the ISL semi-final. He created the most chances (60) in the ISL last season. The player was elated to join the ISL Cup winners.

The player also confirmed having an extensive talk with Pert Kratky and confirmed his determination and will to perform under his new coach at the club. Kratky was also high on praises for the midfielder.

The ace midfielder will bring flair and creativity to Mumbai City FC. His addition is expected to further enhance the team's attack as the Islanders aim for further glory in the 2024-25 season.
