Brendan Rodgers Returns To Management With Al-Qadsiah In Saudi Pro League

Brendan Rodgers has been appointed as head coach of Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League. Following a challenging departure from Celtic, he aims to enhance the club's ambitions and performance.

Brendan Rodgers has taken the managerial role at Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League. The former manager of Liverpool and Leicester City had been without a job since his departure from Celtic last October. His resignation followed a 3-1 defeat to Hearts, which left Celtic trailing by eight points in the Scottish Premiership standings.

Despite leading Celtic to league titles in the previous two seasons, Rodgers faced criticism from major shareholder Dermot Desmond. Desmond accused him of divisive and self-serving actions during his final months at the club. Now, Rodgers embarks on a new chapter in Saudi Arabia, accompanied by assistants John Kennedy and Jack Lyons, who previously worked with him at Celtic.

Rodgers Takes Charge at Al-Qadsiah

James Bisgrove, CEO of Al-Qadsiah, expressed enthusiasm about Rodgers' appointment. He stated: "Following a rigorous global recruitment process, we're delighted to welcome Brendan to Al Khobar as our new head coach. This is a landmark moment for the club." Bisgrove highlighted Rodgers' experience and winning track record as aligning with the club's ambition to become one of Asia's leading teams.

The club currently holds fifth place in the Saudi Pro League. Their squad boasts notable players such as Italy international Mateo Retegui and former Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez. Additionally, their midfield features talented players like Julian Weigl, Otavio, and Nahitan Nandez.

Rodgers shared his excitement about joining Al-Qadsiah through social media.

This move marks an important step for both Rodgers and Al-Qadsiah as they aim for success together. With support from the board, skilled players, top-notch staff, and dedicated fans, they are eager to advance into this promising phase of development.
