Brentford Secures 3-1 Victory Against Newcastle United As Thiago Scores Twice

Brentford staged an impressive comeback in the second half to secure a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United, who were reduced to 10 players, at the Gtech Community Stadium. The first half saw limited chances from both teams, but Newcastle took the lead with their initial attack. Nick Woltemade set up Harvey Barnes, who skillfully bypassed Brentford's defence to score.

After halftime, Brentford showed significant improvement. Within the first minute of the restart, Yehor Yarmolyuk nearly scored, forcing a strong save from Nick Pope. The equaliser came in the 56th minute when Michael Kayode's long throw wasn't cleared by Newcastle, allowing Kevin Schade to head home.

The pressure from Brentford continued as they earned a penalty when Dango Ouattara was fouled by Dan Burn in the area. Burn received a second yellow card for his challenge. Igor Thiago confidently converted the penalty and later secured victory with another goal in injury time after Malick Thiaw accidentally redirected the ball to him.
