Brentford and Brighton and Hove Albion ended their Premier League clash in a 0-0 draw on Friday. Both managers, Thomas Frank and Fabian Hurzeler, believed their teams had chances to win. Brentford managed to secure only their second away point this season at the Amex Stadium by effectively containing Brighton's attack.
For Brighton, the draw added to their frustration as they have now gone six league games without a win. It was only the second time this season they failed to score at home. Despite the result being seen as a positive for Brentford given their poor away form, Frank felt his team could have done more to claim victory.

Frank expressed his thoughts after the match, stating, "I never play for one point in any game, but sometimes you have to look into the circumstances." He acknowledged that while Brighton had some opportunities in the first half, they weren't clear-cut. Frank believed Brentford dominated the second half but lacked precision in their final passes.
Frank praised his team's pace and ability in attack but demanded more from them to secure wins in such matches. He remarked that while he wasn't disappointed with the result, he expected a bit more from his players. "It was a fair result," he said, adding that although he never aims for a draw, it was a valuable point away from home.
Hurzeler had a different view of the match outcome. Despite Brighton's 24 shots resulting in only 1.24 expected goals (xG), Hurzeler felt they deserved to win. "It's tough that we didn't finish the game as winners," he commented. He emphasized the need for his team to learn how to create and convert chances.
The match marked Brentford's last game of 2024 as they prepare to face Arsenal on New Year's Day. Meanwhile, Brighton will next play against Aston Villa on December 30.
