Brentford Maintains Consistency In Pursuit Of European Football After Nottingham Forest Victory

After a 2-0 victory against Nottingham Forest, Thomas Frank commended Brentford's consistency while discussing their chances for European football qualification.

Thomas Frank praised Brentford's recent form but remained cautious about their chances of European qualification following a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest. Kevin Schade and Yoane Wissa scored at the City Ground, impacting Forest's Champions League aspirations while keeping Brentford close to a Europa Conference League spot. The Bees are 11th in the standings, just two points behind eighth-placed Fulham.

Frank acknowledged that several factors need to align for Brentford to qualify for Europe. "There is a few things to happen, the teams ahead of us need to get less points, and we need Manchester City to win the FA Cup," he told Sky Sports. He noted that some elements are beyond their control. Despite this, Brentford has shown remarkable consistency in their last 12 matches.

Brentford's European Football Aspirations Grow

The potential for European competition represents significant progress for Brentford, who joined the Premier League in 2021. Frank was non-committal about their readiness for such a challenge, stating, "Ask me in three games' time, then I'll answer the question." This cautious optimism reflects the club's growth trajectory and ambition.

Frank highlighted the team's development and resilience despite injuries last year. "We're growing as a club, and the team is growing," he said. This season has seen consistent performances with only one poor game compared to several in previous seasons. The manager expressed satisfaction with their defensive strength and tactical intelligence against Nottingham Forest.

The victory was particularly satisfying given Forest's strong performance this season. Frank remarked on how well his team executed defensively and tactically during the match. "It was very good to come here and win against a very good team," he said, emphasizing their robust defense and strategic play.

Discussing tactics with Nathan Collins, Frank noted the advantage of centre-backs capable of executing long passes over shorter ones. This strategic insight underscores Brentford's evolving gameplay under Frank's leadership.

The upcoming matches will be crucial for Brentford as they aim for European competition. Their recent form suggests they are well-positioned to challenge higher-ranked teams if results go their way.
