Brighton Boss Fabian Hurzeler Seeks Consistency Following Perfect Week Ahead Of Everton Match

Fabian Hurzeler is determined to build on Brighton's recent success by achieving consistent results in the Premier League. After a perfect week with three wins, he aims to secure a European place while facing Everton.

Fabian Hurzeler is optimistic that Brighton can maintain their recent form to achieve consistent results in the Premier League. The Seagulls recently secured a 3-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford, marking their third consecutive away win in the top flight. This success has extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches across all competitions, although four of those ended in draws, placing them ninth in the league standings.

David Moyes celebrated his first win since returning to Everton with a 3-2 triumph over Tottenham. This victory lifted Everton four points clear of the relegation zone. Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored his 57th Premier League goal, surpassing Tim Cahill's record for Everton. Only Romelu Lukaku and Duncan Ferguson have scored more for the Toffees in the competition.

Hurzeler Aims for Consistency Against Everton

Hurzeler expressed satisfaction with his team's performance, stating, "If you have nine points it is the perfect week, so I am happy and proud of the team." He emphasised the importance of consistency in results following their recent performances. Brighton's balance between defence and attack was evident, particularly in the second half against Manchester United.

Moyes hopes Calvert-Lewin can build on his recent performance. "Dominic [Calvert-Lewin] had three big chances in midweek and was a little bit unlucky," Moyes noted. He praised Calvert-Lewin's traditional centre-forward play and believes confidence is returning to his game.

Kaoru Mitoma has been instrumental for Brighton, contributing directly to three goals in his last two Premier League matches. If he scores again, he will become the first Japanese player to net in three consecutive Premier League games. Meanwhile, Calvert-Lewin ended a 16-game goal drought by scoring against Spurs and had as many shots as he did in his previous six appearances combined.

Match Prediction: Brighton Win

Brighton aims to achieve a league double over Everton for the first time this season. They have won their last two Premier League matches after an eight-game winless streak but are without a home win in four attempts (D3 L1). Conversely, Everton has struggled away from home, winning only one of their last 21 league games on the road.

Moyes has historically found it challenging against Brighton, securing just one victory in ten Premier League encounters (D5 L4). However, this win came during his last visit to Amex Stadium with West Ham. Despite Everton's struggles this season, they have managed two wins from their last three visits to Brighton's home ground (D1).

Opta Win Probability

Outcome Probability
Brighton Win 56%
Draw 23.5%
Everton Win 20.5%

The Seagulls are keen on maintaining momentum from their recent victories as they pursue European qualification. Meanwhile, Everton will look to improve their away form under Moyes' guidance as they aim to climb further up the table.
