Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler is focused on improving his team's scoring efficiency as they prepare to face Brentford in the Premier League on Friday. The Seagulls recently drew 1-1 with West Ham, squandering several opportunities, with only half of their 12 shots hitting the target. Brighton's recent form includes three draws and two losses, placing them 10th in the league standings after a promising start.
Despite their struggles, Brighton has scored in their last 13 Premier League matches but managed more than one goal only once in their past five games. Hurzeler remains calm about the situation but recognises the need for improvement if they aim for European competition. "Not in an artificial way. We train a lot, we continue to train a lot. It is not a case of because we are not scoring a lot we train more," Hurzeler stated.

The upcoming match against Brentford presents an opportunity for Brighton to break their cycle of mixed results. Historically, Brighton has performed well at home against Brentford, remaining unbeaten in all three Premier League encounters (two wins and one draw). However, Hurzeler emphasised that past statistics do not guarantee future success.
"We prepare like any other game. I am not a fan of statistics like that. They don't give you any guarantee to win the game," Hurzeler mentioned. He sees this match as a chance to overcome recent challenges and aims to deliver an intense performance for the fans.
Brentford will visit Brighton after losing their unbeaten streak at home to Nottingham Forest. The Bees have struggled away from home, earning just one point this season, which is the lowest among Premier League teams. Throughout 2024, only Everton has accumulated fewer points than Brentford's total of 11.
Despite these challenges, Hurzeler refuses to underestimate Brentford's potential threat. He believes that playing with increased intensity can help Brighton secure a positive result and reward their supporters with a strong performance.
As Brighton prepares for this crucial fixture, they remain committed to refining their attacking strategies without overtraining players. With experts focusing on both offensive and defensive improvements during training sessions, Hurzeler aims to enhance player development consistently.
