Erling Haaland found the net but failed to stop the losing streak as Manchester City suffered a crushing 1-2 defeat at the hands of Brighton on Saturday (November 9).
Late goals from Joao Pedro and then debutant Matt O'Riley won the match for the Seagulls. With the defeat, Man City have now suffered consecutive league defeats.

Despite Haaland's efforts, including his 12th Premier League goal of the season, City's performance faltered in the second half, exposing potential weaknesses. The match also marked Haaland's first Premier League game where he scored but did not secure a win for his team, ending an impressive streak of 46 matches where his goals directly contributed to positive outcomes.
The Norwegian continues to be prolific this season but this marks Man City's fourth straight defeat across all competitions, something alien to the Man City team and fans accounting the recent years.
Man City manager Pep Guardiola has also now suffered four straight defeats for the first time in his illustrious career. The Spaniard has coached Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the past but never lost more than three matches in a row for them.
City's losing streak started with the EFL Cup loss against Tottenham, which then continued into their first Premier League defeat of the season against Bournemouth. Then Sporting CP decimated them 4-1 in the Champions League, and now the latest loss at Brighton has compounded their problems.
Tottenham 2-1 Man City (EFL Cup)
Bournemouth 2-1 Man City (PL)
Sporting CP 4-1 Man City (Champions League)
Brighton 2-1 Man City (PL)
Guardiola's men had the chance to go top of the table with all three points, and despite having a half-time lead, this is the first time the defending champions have relinquished all three points since 2021. As the international break arrives up next, City will play their next match against Tottenham on November 23 in the Premier League.
