Bukayo Saka has committed to a new long-term contract with Arsenal, keeping the forward at the club for another five years. The England international stays central to Mikel Arteta’s plans as Arsenal compete for the Premier League title and challenge in three different cup competitions this season.
The 24-year-old, who progressed through the Arsenal academy, extends a journey that started in the youth system. Saka has been in the first team since 2019-20 but is still waiting for a major trophy. The winger aims to change that with this new deal and sustained success under Arteta.

Saka reflected on the progress made by both club and player since breaking through. "The journey that I’ve been on, from where I started to where I am now, and the journey the team’s been on as well, is a special one," Saka told the club website. "I believe the next few years are going to be the years that we get over the line, and we’re able to win trophies and make history for this club. We’re back where we belong, fighting for everything."
On the pitch, Saka’s numbers underline that influence. The winger scored his 58th Premier League goal against Wolves on Wednesday and has also delivered 48 assists in 218 league appearances. Since 2019-20, Saka has directly contributed to 106 goals in the competition, among the top forwards in England.
During that period, only Harry Kane with 116, Ollie Watkins with 118, Erling Haaland with 129, Son Heung-min with 137 and Mohamed Salah with 208 have more combined goals and assists among forwards in the Premier League. These figures place Saka in elite attacking company within the English top flight.
Arsenal’s current campaign provides several chances to end Saka’s wait for major honours. Despite a 2-2 draw against Wolves on Wednesday, Arsenal remain favourites to win the Premier League, with the Opta supercomputer giving a 79.7% chance. The club’s position reflects consistent league form across this season.
Knockout competitions also offer clear opportunities. Arsenal are in the EFL Cup final against Manchester City, the fifth round of the FA Cup and the last 16 of the Champions League. Saka was an unused substitute when Arsenal beat Chelsea in the 2020 FA Cup final, so a first major winners’ medal still lies ahead.
The extended contract confirms Arsenal’s intent to build around Saka through what could be peak years. With strong league prospects and deep runs in three cup tournaments, the forward’s new deal links personal ambition with the club’s current competitive window and long-term plans.
