Burnley, Sunderland, and Sheffield United all secured victories in the Championship's race for the top two spots. Jesurun Rak-Sakyi scored first after a defensive error, but Delano Burgzorg equalised with a penalty before half-time. Ben Brereton Diaz restored the lead, and Anel Ahmedhodzic's late header ensured victory.

The win placed Sheffield United second in the standings, trailing Leeds United by two points and leading Burnley by the same margin.
