Caicedo Signs Extended Chelsea Contract To 2033, Confirming Long-term Commitment
Moises Caicedo has agreed a new long-term deal with Chelsea, keeping the midfielder at Stamford Bridge until 2033. The extension underlines Chelsea’s plan to build around Caicedo, who has become one of the team’s most relied-upon players since arriving from Brighton in August 2023.
The fresh agreement adds two more years to the eight-year contract Caicedo signed in August 2023. Chelsea secure a key part of the squad’s core for the next decade, as the Ecuador international remains tied to the club on a deal running through to 2033.

The renewal comes as Chelsea prepare for a key Premier League fixture against Manchester United on Saturday. Chelsea are sixth in the table and sit four points behind Liverpool. The club aim to revive their challenge for a Champions League place during the closing stages of the season.
Since the start of the 2025 Club World Cup, Caicedo has featured heavily in all competitions. Among Chelsea’s outfield players, only Enzo Fernandez has spent more minutes on the pitch. Under both Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior, Caicedo has remained central to Chelsea’s structure in and out of possession.
Caicedo’s numbers this term highlight that influence, leading the squad for several key metrics across competitions.
{TABLE_1}Beyond current-season data, Caicedo has built a strong overall record for Chelsea. Signed from Brighton for a fee of 115m, the midfielder has made 140 appearances in all competitions. During that time, Caicedo has scored eight goals, supplied 11 assists, and helped Chelsea win both the Conference League and the Club World Cup.
Caicedo expressed clear satisfaction after committing to the longer deal with Chelsea, stressing belief in the squad and the project. "I am so happy to have extended my contract at Chelsea," Caicedo told the club's website. "I believe in this team, this club, and I know we're going in the right direction. We've only just begun together."
The midfielder also set out personal aims for the coming seasons, linking them closely with Chelsea’s ambitions. "There is still a lot more to achieve, and I'm very hungry to keep improving every day. I want to win more trophies with Chelsea and give everything for this club and for the fans. We have enjoyed some great times together already, and my dream is to become a Chelsea legend, and I will work as hard as possible to make that happen."
With Caicedo now secured until 2033, Chelsea retain a midfielder who leads the squad for passes, touches, tackles, successful tackles and interceptions this term. The contract extension supports stability in a key area of the pitch as Chelsea chase a return to the Champions League and target further trophies in the coming years.
