Lionel Messi continues to redefine the boundaries of football greatness as he enjoys a rich vein of form with Inter Miami.
The Argentinian icon stands just 26 goals away from 900 career goals, only 14 assists short of 400 career assists, and just 4 trophies from reaching 50 major career trophies.

Now 38 years old, Messi’s performances in Major League Soccer (MLS) with Inter Miami CF show little sign of decline. In the 2025 season, Messi has already scored 24 goals and registered 10 assists in 29 appearances, a feat matched by extremely few players at this stage of their careers.
Most recently, Messi delivered a commanding performance on July 19, scoring twice and adding an assist as Inter Miami routed the New York Red Bulls 5-1. Earlier in July, Messi recorded a brace against the New England Revolution, reaching a new MLS milestone: the first player to score multiple goals in five consecutive league matches.
The Argentine has been in sublime form this season and has netted six braces in the last seven matches for Miami. Although the former Barcelona player couldn't match his tally of six consecutive braces during his Camp Nou days, he continues to redefine greatness at the MLS this season.
Messi’s leadership has also been vital off the scoresheet, propelling Inter Miami to records such as the MLS single-season points tally, while serving as both captain and creator-in-chief.
Their is a massive possibility that Messi will reach 900 goals this season if he continues his scoring spree. The assist chart also looks achievable for the Argentine. He is expected to play for Inter Miami and will also take the field for Argentina, which may facilitate his chances.
With plenty of MLS, continental and international matches on offer, Messi will be getting closer to the mark, if he doesn't cross it. In terms of the trophy count, Messi will be hoping to get a couple of steps closer as they participate in the MLS and Leagues Cup.
Messi's impact in MLS has been nothing short of transformative. He not only leads the MVP race for 2025 but continues to break records and add new highlights to an already glittering career.
