Capital One Cup: Chelsea vs Manchester United Preview

London, Oct 30: Just three days after an entertaining yet controversial match in the Premier League, Chelsea face title rivals Manchester United in the fourth round of Capital One Cup at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

United emerged 3-2 winners as 9-man Blues fell to their first defeat this Premier League season. Fernando Torres and Branislav Ivanovic, both were sent-off during Sunday's clash, will miss the Cup tie on Wednesday.

Roberto Di Matteo is likely to rest his star trio of Oscar, Juan Mata and Eden Hazard while Alex Ferguson could also rest attacking duo Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.

Both teams are likely to give a chance to their fringe players due to the cramped fixture list next month, which includes Premier League clashes as well UEFA Champions League.

Chelsea will miss veterans John Terry, due to suspension, and midfielder Frank Lampard who is out with a calf injury.

United, unlike Chelsea, do not have players suspended but face injury problems especially in defence. Youngster Scott Wootton could come in place of Rio Ferdinand, 33, while Paul Scholes should return in place of Tom Cleverley.
