Holders Liverpool have been drawn to face Tottenham Hotspur, while Arsenal face Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup Semi-Final after the domestic cup competition whittled down to four teams following the quarter-final round on Thursday (December 19).

Liverpool, who had beaten Chelsea earlier this year to win the EFL Cup, kept their title defence alive with a narrow 2-1 away win over Southampton on Wednesday (December 18) when Arsenal edged Crystal Palace 3-2 at home, and Newcastle defeated Brentford 3-1 in the other two quarter-finals.

On Thursday (December 19) night, Tottenham beat Manchester United in a seven goal thriller to book their spot in the last four following a 4-3 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, moments before the draw for the Carabao Cup Semi Final was done.

With an all-Premier League affair set for the final stages of the EFL Cup, here is a look at when and where the Carabao Cup 2024-25 Semi-Finals will be played:

When is the EFL Cup Semi-Final taking place?

Unlike the previous rounds, the semi-final will be stagged over two legs with one home and one away match for each team against their respective opponent. The semi-final will take place in January and February 2025.

As per the schedule, the semi-finals will be played in the week commencing January 6th, 2025 for the first leg, while the week commencing February 3, 2025 will play host to the second leg. Here is a look at the tentative dates:

How is the two-legged EFL Cup semi-final decided?

The two finalists of the Carabao Cup will be decided based on the results over the two legs, meaning the aggregate score will come into consideration if one of the legs end in a draw. If both the legs end in a draw, then the result will be decided via a penalty shootout following the second leg.

When is the Carabao Cup 2025 Final?

The title clash between the winners of the two semi-finals will be staged at the Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday, March 16th, 2025, a day before St Patrick's Day.
