Carlos Corberan has taken over as the head coach of Valencia, succeeding Ruben Baraja, who was dismissed. Valencia is currently struggling in LaLiga, sitting 19th with only two wins this season. To secure Corberan's services, Valencia reportedly paid West Brom around £3 million to trigger a release clause in his contract.
Corberan joined West Brom from Huddersfield Town in October 2022. At Huddersfield, he led the team to third place in the Championship during the 2021-22 season. Under his leadership, West Brom finished ninth in the second tier in 2022-23 and fifth the following year before being eliminated in the play-off semi-finals. Currently, they are seventh.

Shilen Patel, chairman of West Brom, expressed gratitude towards Corberan on X: "I want to thank Carlos for all of his hard work since his arrival at the Albion at one of the most challenging times in the club's modern era. I am grateful for his contributions and wish Carlos and his family all the best on his new journey!"
Corberan has committed to Valencia until the end of the 2026-27 season. During his time at West Brom, he achieved a win rate of 43.93%, securing victory in 47 out of 107 matches across all competitions.
Corberan's first match as Valencia's head coach will be against Real Madrid on January 3. This game will mark the beginning of a new chapter for both him and Valencia as they aim to improve their standing in LaLiga.
Valencia hopes that Corberan's experience and leadership will help steer them away from relegation troubles and towards better performances in future matches.
