Celtic achieved a 3-1 victory over Feyenoord in the Europa League, with Reo Hatate playing a pivotal role by scoring one goal and assisting another. Despite missing an early chance when Luke McCowan hit the crossbar, Celtic managed to turn the game around. Sem Steijn initially put Feyenoord ahead by setting up Ayase Ueda, who scored past Kasper Schmeichel.

Yang Hyun-Jun equalised for Celtic with a skilful volley after Hatate delivered a precise cross. Shortly after, Schmeichel denied another attempt from Ueda. In the 43rd minute, Daizen Maeda pressured Timon Wellenreuther into a mistake, allowing Hatate to score into an open net, giving Celtic the lead.

Celtic Beats Feyenoord 3-1 in Europa League

Feyenoord sought an equaliser with Gaoussou Diarra hitting the crossbar and Robin van Persie introducing his son Shaqueel to bolster their attack. However, substitute Benjamin Nygren sealed Celtic's win by scoring their third goal from Maeda's assist, marking their first European away victory in over four years.

Before this match, Celtic had struggled to score from open play in the Europa League. However, they were efficient against Feyenoord, converting three of their four shots on target into goals. Despite having only 1.15 expected goals (xG), they capitalised on their chances effectively.

Feyenoord created seven significant opportunities according to Opta statistics. Four of these fell to Ueda, but he was unable to lead a successful comeback for his team. Meanwhile, Celtic are reportedly close to appointing Wilfried Nancy as their new permanent manager.

The win moved Celtic up to 17th in the table and marked a significant milestone as they secured their first away victory in Europe since more than four years ago. This performance highlighted their ability to seize crucial moments despite limited opportunities.
